I'm not going to lie, it looks pretty impressive, but looks aren't everything. As with any piece of technology, unless it does what it is supposed to do and does it right, it doesn't matter if it's made of gold, it won't be any use to anyone. (Except maybe Gold Smith or Jeweller).
So, on the 24th of June when the phone is released, what will be the defining features that decide the success or failure of the iPhone 4.
With very many people I know that had an opinion of the previous iPhone, size always seemed to be an issue, apparently it is too big. Well, all the people out there that dislike the size of the iPhone you will be happy to know that Apple have decreased the height on the iPhone 4 by a massive 0.3 millimetres, now you'll have room in your pocket for you keys too.
The camera on this piece of kit is, in my opinion, pretty impressive. The reverse camera has the ability to record High Definition videos in up to 720p, now as someone that enjoys the clarity of HD films and gaming, I wouldn't turn that down.
It's ability to take still pictures isn't quite as impressive at only 5 mega pixels, but with the level of video quality it can produce, I am willing to turn a blind eye at that.
This version of the iPhone will support N level wireless networks, so you can browse the net at home with a wireless connection speed of up to 300 Mbps.
And while you are browsing, you will notice how visually sharp the text on the screen is, with the new Retina Display, which Apple state gives the iPhone 4 "The sharpest, most vibrant, highest-resolution phone screen ever". This new addition keeps text, images and movies at the same quality no matter how you look at the screen or how much or little you are zoomed in. They have managed this by making each pixel only 78 micrometres wide, and the 3.5 inch screen on the iPhone 4 has 4 times more pixels than the previous iPhone's 3.5 inch screen.
And now, just incase you happen to drop the iPhone 4 out of an aeroplane, you can do so with out the slightest worry of the screen cracking as the screen is made from a highly strengthened glass, the same as that used in Helicopters and on trains.
With all these added extras, the power consumption will be rather large, won't it? No! Inface talk time, audio time and browsing time have all increased on the iPhone 4.
This table should explain it.
| Talk Time 2G | Talk Time 3G | Browse Time 3G | Browse Time Wifi | Adio Playback Time | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| iPhone 3GS | 12 Hours | 5 hours | 5 hours | 9 Hours | 30 hours |
| iPhone 4 | 14 hours | 7 Hours | 6 Hours | 10 Hours | 40 Hours |
And the best part, you can purchase a "bumper" (A rubber mould to go around the edge of the iPhone) that comes in 6 different colours, white, black, blue, green, orange or pink.
